To practice today. We will have practice tomorrow.
Costs for the Season
If you make the team, here are some expenses to prepare for:
1) Shoes. It is good to start the year with a good pair of running shoes (not tennis shoes, walking shoes, sandels, spikes or cross trainers... but running shoes). These can range anywhere from $40-$80, depending on the make & model. We will be having a day right after tryouts where anyone can go to the Dick's Sporting Goods @ Briarcreek, get fitted for shoes and receive a 15% coupon off their purchase.
2) Uniforms. Mr. Reed has just informed me that athletes will be purchasing their own uniforms from now on for $23, which they will get to keep after the season. More information about this will be passed on at the Parent Meeting March 2nd.
3) Track Appearal. There will be a track t-shirt, hoodie, and sweatshirt offered this year (see below). Everyone will be required to purchase the t-shirt, while the others are optional but highly recommended. The t-shirt will be $17, while purchasing the "whole package" will cost around $66. Please have planned out what you would buy, so that when the team is announced, we can get the order in quickly, to hopefully have our order in close to our first meet. More purchasing information to follow...

3) Donations. There is a long list of items that are needed for the season (additional shot puts, medicine balls, plyometric boxes, etc). Unfortunately, all of our needs cannot be met from just the athletic department's budget. Any donations to the LMAC will help in the purchasing of these materials, which will allow the coaches to provide higher quality training for our athletes. A "wish list" will be posted shortly.
2010 Track Team - Final Team
Last Updated on Sunday, 28 February 2010 18:51 Written by Administrator Friday, 26 February 2010 18:43
Is your number on the list? Congratulations! You made the team. First practice is Monday @ 3pm. Money for T-Shirts is due by Tuesday. The Parent meeting is also Tuesday after practice (4:45pm). Not manditory, but I highly, highly encourage everyone to attend. We will discussing important topics.
Is your number not on the list? Unfortunately, that means your results were not enough to make the team this year. This age is tough as your body is still growing and changing. For 7th graders, there is the opportunity to tryout in 8th grade, as each year around 2/3rds of the team ends up being 8th grade athletes. If you are in 8th grade, tryout for the High School team next year. The top female sprinter on the High School team did not make the middle school team when they were in 7th & 8th grade. But their body developed while they were in high school, and now they are a top performer. Do not give up hope just because of this year.
